Customers appreciate and value the kind gesture you offer them, there's a dictum; " Customer is king and does no wrong by respecting them, no matter their attitude and behaviour to the business ".
Recently, I visited a shop, the seller wasn't smiling at all, I was uncomfortable patronizing her and I passed to the next shop.
As a business person don't scare customers away, if you're upset then stay at home, so you won't discomfort your potential customers.
2. Don't be Harsh: A good business person shouldn't be harsh, some business person's tend to scare customers by being too harsh.
I experienced one, I didn't knew when I altered "Madam are we fighting?", Because her reaction to my inquiry really got me pissed off.
Some customers will tagged you as wicked because of your mode of treating customers.
That reminds me if a Small boy (6-7yrs) whom I overheard complaining to his mom " I won't buy something from that woman again, she's too wicked "
So its not good to be harsh, just imagine a small boy saying such.
3. Be Patient: As a business man, you should be patient, there are some business plight you can only overcome with patience.
There are hard time or Rather situations in business that requires patience and if you lack it, it may affect the relationship with customers.
When you meet stumbling blocks, don't get upset or depressed, just be patient and everything will be fixed and fine.
4. Be Faithful: As a business person, you need to be faithful as this will strengthen your relationship with customers.
Trustworthy, Accountability, Accuracy, self discipline; are true characteristics of a faithful person.
Customers want someone that's trustworthy, Someone that won't cheat them, Someone that won't take advantage of the business-customer relationship, Someone that treat others the way they want to be treated and someone that knows how painful it is to be disappointed.
You made promise to your customer? fulfill it!
You reached an agreement with them, respect it!
Don't ever try to cheat your customer or play smart because this bridges trust.
Don't ever disappoint them because it stop them from patronizing.
Let your customers be able to lean on you and be rest assured they're safe with you.
